Breaking Benjamin at The Fillmore Silver Spring

On January 10th, 2017, Breaking Benjamin’s short run of tour dates started at The Fillmore in Silver Spring, Maryland. Wilson is opening all of the dates. The shows are planned around the bands’ performance on Shiprocked, a four-day-long music festival at sea.

Wilson began the night with an energy-filled performance. The five piece band got the crowd to start moving, and everybody sang along to their cover of AC/DC’s “Back In Black.” For about 40 minutes, they played songs such as “Windows Down!” and “Right To Rise”. Their set included a new song, “How Do You Sleep At Night.” Wilson mentioned that this would be their last tour for this record cycle, so make sure to catch them if they’re playing near you.

After a bit of a wait, Breaking Benjamin finally took the stage. They opened their set with “So Cold,” getting much of the crowd to sing along. Guitarist Keith Wallen and bassist Aaron Bruch helped lead singer Benjamin Burnley out by singing the verses of some of the songs, such as “Sooner or Later” and “Simple Design.” Breaking Benjamin played a medley of covers that consisted of “The Imperial March,” “Bulls on Parade,” “Smells Like Teen Spirit,” “Walk,” and “Sad But True.” The set included one of their older songs, “Skin,” that they had not played in a while. The band thanked all of the service men and women and dedicated “I Will Not Bow” to them. After that, the band disappeared for a few moments, but came back on for an encore of “Diary of Jane.” After bowing for the crowd, Breaking Benjamin left the stage, ending their first show of the year.
