On Tuesday, March 1st, The British Invasion Tour hit The Fillmore in Silver Spring, Maryland. Bullet For My Valentine played to a nearly sold out room that night, while While She Sleeps opened and Asking Alexandria was direct support for them.
While She Sleeps started the night off with a bang. They got the crowd moving, with crowd surfers going up and mosh pits beginning early in their set. The band made sure to thank Bullet For My Valentine for bringing them out on the tour. For their last song, “Four Walls,” While She Sleeps invited the crowd to get up on each other’s shoulders. At the end of their set, lead singer Lawrence Taylor jumped down to the audience and crowd surfed himself for a bit.
Next on the stage was Asking Alexandria. They began their set with “I Won’t Give In,” one of their most recent songs. They also played “The Black,” which is the title-track off of their upcoming fourth album, which is to be released March 25th. The nine song set included tracks off of all three of their previous albums. During their last song, “The Final Episode (Let’s Change The Channel),” the band’s new lead singer, Denis Stoff , sang the end of the song by the barrier, getting closer to the fans at the front of the crowd.
The show ended with Bullet For My Valentine. They began their set with “No Way Out,” off of their most recent album, Venom. Their next song, “Skin,” was off of the same album. After that came “Your Betrayal.” By this point, the mosh pit had begun to grow and crowd surfers were going up in the air regularly. About halfway through their set, the band explained the reason behind their drummer’s absence, leading into a drum solo. Bullet For My Valentine concluded the show with a two-song encore, consisting of “Tears Don’t Fall” and “Waking The Demon.”
